The day is finally here! The David Lewis Memorial Our Hearts To Your Soles event is tonight at the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Saint Paul Opportunity Center and Dorothy Day Residence, located at 422 Dorothy Day Place in St. Paul.
The event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and we’ll be giving out free Red Wing shoes, socks, hygiene kits, flu shots, legal advice and other supplies to homeless and financially burdened individuals here in the Twin Cities. We’re still looking for volunteers to assist with all parts of the event, so if you’re free tonight and want to help with the wonderful event, please reach out to Rachel at rachel@anklefootmd.com. We need help during the event, but we’re also looking for people who can help with set up or clean up outside of the event hours.
Our Hearts To Your Soles 2019
This will be the thirteenth year that Dr. Silverman will be participating in the local event, and his practice Silverman Ankle & Foot provides the financial backing for the evening. He had this to say about the annual event:
“We’re expecting a great turnout tonight, and I can’t wait to see everyone,” said Dr. Silverman. “Tonight’s event won’t be the same without David, but I’m hoping we can honor his memory and help hundreds in our community at the same time with this year’s event.”
David Lewis was an orthotist who worked to help countless people get back on their feet. He and his family volunteered at Our Hearts To Your Soles for years, but sadly he passed away unexpectedly this year. Aside from being a friend and colleague, he also helped Dr. Silverman’s family through a tough time in their life, so his presence at the event and in everyday life will be missed. Here’s hoping tonight’s event can help honor the great man that he was.
We’re hoping to see you tonight, and let’s set some records for how many people we can help! To see the recap from last year’s event or to check out pictures from previous years, just click the links.
