If you’ve been following the blog, you know that Dr. Silverman has been vocal in his support for Israel in the wake of the terrorist attacks by Hamas. He was quick to share some charitable organizations that he and his family had donated to in the past for anyone interested in helping those affected in Israel, and now he’s taking his quest to bring attention to the situation by marching on Washington.
Marching On Washington
Dr. Silverman and many other Americans are currently participating in the peaceful “March for Israel” on the National Mall in Washington D.C. The goal of the event is to have Americans from all walks of life come together in solidarity for the people of Israel and to demonstrate their commitment to America’s ally in the Middle East. They also hope to bring attention to the rising trend of antisemitic violence and to plea for the safe release of hostages.
“As patriotic Americans, we will gather on the National Mall to ensure that the entire world knows that America supports the people of Israel in its time of need, that America demands the release of the remaining hostages, and that America categorically rejects antisemitism and hate in every form. This is a moment where all of us must stand against terror and defend what the terrorists seek to destroy,” said Eric D. Fingerhut, President and C.E.O., Jewish Federations of North America.
You can watch a live feed of the event below.
The walk was organized by Jewish Federations of North America, a group of 146 Federations and hundreds of independent communities dedicated to building and sustaining flourishing Jewish communities at home, in Israel, and around the world.
Dr. Silverman felt called to join the movement and is currently participating in the march on the National Mall. He’s planning on taking a number of pictures at the event to document the peaceful movement, and we’ll be sure to share those on our blog and our social channels as soon as possible. If you are considering donating to Israel’s cause, please check out the previous blog post that dives into the backgrounds of a few different trusted organizations.
