If you manage your family’s medical appointments, you know how difficult it can be to keep track of everyone’s different schedules, allergies, and daily prescription requirements. Keeping records of medical information in a file cabinet at home is important, but you don’t always have access to those documents if a medical emergency arises outside of your home.
To address this problem, a team of developers created the Healow app, which keeps your family’s medical history at your fingertips on your smartphone or tablet. In addition to keeping track of regular check-ups, the Healow app allows you to:
- Manage your prescriptions, including sending daily or weekly reminders to make sure everyone in your family takes their medication on time. The free app can even send a refill request to your doctor when your prescription gets low, so you’ll never be stuck without medication.
- Look up past medical data, so you can know exactly when you received certain check-ups. This can be very handy for parents who have children that need yearly physicals or certain vaccinations to participate in some school events.
- Communicate with your doctor with the touch of a button. The Healow app allows you to send and receive messages directly from your physician, so they can stay up to date on your condition after you leave the medical center.
- Keep track of allergy and vitals information. Also included is a reference guide so you can learn to spot the warning signs of certain ailments.
- Record data for your whole family. As a parent or guardian, you’ll be able to reference your children’s medical history. With permission, you can even access medical data and set prescription reminders for an elderly parent who might need help remembering their medication.
Dr. Silverman is on Healow
The main reason why we’re so excited about the Healow app is because Dr. Silverman is listed as a doctor in the app. Once you download the app, you can search for Dr. Lance Silverman. After you find Silverman Ankle & Foot, simply sign in using you patient portal ID to access your medical records. It’s that easy to stay connected!
Also, while you’re in the app store, consider downloading one of the five exercise apps we featured in a previous blog post to help you track your run.
