One common comment we oftentimes receive from blog readers or patients is in regards to how late is too late for treatment. They may make an offhand comment about how their husband has been dealing with heel pain for over a decade or that their discomfort finally got bad enough that it warranted attention from a specialist. They oftentimes wonder if, because they put off treatment for so long, it is too late to fix their issue.
We’re never one to talk in certainties on this blog, especially because foot pain is so complex and individualized, but we can say this. It is incredibly unlikely that it is too late to treat your foot or ankle issue. We explain more in today’s blog.
It’s Never Too Late To Treat Foot Pain
We have yet to meet the patient where we say “There is absolutely nothing we can do to help treat your issue.” We strive to provide the best treatment to every patient that walks or hobbles in our door, and we pride ourselves on being able to help patients find ways to make improvements to their condition. We help each patient walk out of our office with a plan in place to improve their condition or reduce their symptoms.
Now, improving a condition or reducing symptoms is different than completely curing an issue. We’re not saying that we will be able to completely resolve every foot issue that comes into our office. We can’t reverse arthritic degeneration or return your rigid toe tendons back to their flexible form, but we can help to make foot issues much more manageable. It may be too late to completely cure your foot issue, but it’s never too late to take proactive steps to improve the condition or make life a little easier.
We put a lot of stress on our feet every single day, so if you’re dealing with dull pain or noticing that discomfort is getting worse, don’t put off treatment. We may not be able to turn back the clock and have you moving like you did when you were in your twenties again, but we are confident that working with Dr. Silverman will make every step a little bit more comfortable. Whether that involves figuring out a diagnosis, setting you up with a conservative care plan or moving forward with a minimally invasive procedure, we can provide you with the care you need and deserve.
