We’re once again excited to announce that Our Hearts To Your Soles will be returning to the Twin Cities for another year!
Our Hearts To You Soles 2024 will take place Saturday, November 23 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Catholic Charities St. Paul Opportunity Center and Dorothy Day Residence. The Center is located at 422 Dorothy Day Place in St. Paul, Minnesota, 55102.
For those of you unfamiliar with the annual event, Our Hearts To Your Soles provides footwear, foot medical screening exams, legal services and so much more to homeless and financially-burdened individuals in the Twin Cities. A number of local physicians, healthcare employees, lawyers, community leaders, local businesses and volunteers come together to put on the wonderful event, and we’re excited that we can help organize another year of Our Hearts To Your Soles.
Our event is officially called The David Lewis Memorial “Our Hearts To Your Soles” event, and it is named for David Lewis, an orthotist who dedicated his life to helping people get back on their feet. He was a well-known presence at “Our Hearts To Your Soles,” volunteering at the event with his wife and family for over a decade before his unexpected passing in 2019.
This will be the 17th year that Dr. Silverman and the team at Silverman Ankle & Foot will be involved with bringing Our Hearts To Your Soles to the Twin Cities. Dr. Silverman and Silverman Ankle & Foot will be providing the financial support for the event while also working to help ensure it is a complete success, but as always we’re looking for volunteers who could help on the day of the event. We are looking for volunteers who can assist with either of the two shifts:
Shift 1 – 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Shift 2 – 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
If you are interested and able to help with another great Our Hearts To Your Soles event, please reach out to our volunteer coordinator Rachel at Rachel@anklefootmd.com.
Finally, we also want to thank the businesses who have already stepped up to help make this year’s event a success. We specifically want to extend our gratitude to Red Wing Shoes for their shoe donations and to Catholic Charities for generously offering their venue and assisting in spreading the word about the event to other shelters throughout the city.
Stay tuned to the blog for updates about this year’s event, and to get a better idea of what to expect this year, head back to last year’s recap blog that includes a great video made by the team at Catholic Charities that showcases the 2023 event. We can’t wait to put on another great event for our community!
