The annual David Lewis Memorial Our Hearts To Your Soles event is less than two weeks away! We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure everything comes together on November 4th, but we want to put out another call for volunteers or donations. If you can help contribute in any way to the event, we’d be eternally grateful for your assistance!
This year’s event will again be held at the Catholic Charities Saint Paul Opportunity Center and Dorothy Day Residence, located at 422 Dorothy Day Place in St. Paul. We are switching things up a little in hopes of better serving attendees and volunteers, as this will be our first-ever weekend event (even if it is deer hunting opening weekend). OHTYS 2023 will run from 1:00-4:00 p.m., and we hope this allows for a greater turnout for attendees and some of the youth leaders in our community who have not been able to volunteer in the past due to mid-week scheduling conflicts.
OHTYS 2023
The annual event helps to provide boots, socks, winter accessories, foot exams, hygiene bags and legal advice to homeless and financially burdened individuals in the Twin Cities. The success of the event relies on generous donations from local businesses and selfless volunteer efforts from friends, family and those who care about their community. We’re hoping to set a record for most attendees this year, so we’re putting out another call for volunteers. This year we’re looking for volunteers for one of these two shifts:
Shift 1 – 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Shift 2 – 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
If you would like to volunteer for one of those time slots, or you want to ensure your group works the same session, please reach out to our coordinator Rachel at Rachel@anklefootmd.com. You can also reach out to Rachel if you are a business who wants to get involved from a volunteer or donation aspect. We lean on the support of others to make this event a wonderful success, and every year we are overwhelmed by the charitable nature of our community. We can’t wait for this year’s event, and we hope to see you there!
