Procedure: Achilles Tendon Repair
What was your initial medical issue?
Left calcaneal spur with Achilles tendonitis.
What did this issue prevent you doing?
It prevented me from walking without being in excruciating pain.
What made you decide to do something about your problem?
Not being able to walk without being in excruciating pain.
Why did you choose Dr. Silverman?
I work in the medical field, and have heard an overwhelming amount of people say how good Dr. Silverman is – both patients and co-workers.
What treatment/procedure did you have done?
Left calcaneal spur removal and Achilles repair.
How did you feel after treatment?
AMAZING! I’ve had a couple other surgeries in the past, and this one was the easiest surgery and recovery that I have ever gone through. Even in talking with others, no one else has heard of a recovery as remarkable as mine.
It started with the nurses at Greenway Surgery Center, where my surgery was done. The nurses truly listened to me and my concerns, and answered all my questions. After surgery, I awoke surprisingly alert and feeling great. I was given a block to help with my postoperative pain, which helped a great deal. Although I was prescribed narcotic pain medications for post-op pain, there was not a time that I felt I needed to take any; nor did I need to even take anything over-the-counter, such as Ibuprofen or Tylenol. I can honestly say that, since I woke up from surgery, I never once had any amount of pain at any time.
I truly believe that it was because of all the prayers I received and for the wonderfully talented Dr. Silverman that this surgery and the entire recovery went so well.
What advice would you give other patients in a similar situation to you?
Follow Dr. Silverman’s orders, take things slow, and ask for plenty of prayer!
