Procedure: Total Ankle Replacement
What was your initial medical issue?
Right ankle deformity due to multiple breaks and sprains over 40 years of playing basketball.
What did this issue prevent you doing?
I was unable to walk on any non-smooth surface. Could not play golf or walk on the beach.
What made you decide to do something about your problem?
I was waiting until retirement.

What treatment/procedure did you have done?
I had a total ankle replacement as well as a subtalar fusion and a planter fasciotomy.
How did you feel after treatment?
Minimal discomfort. After 1 week I was off all prescription medication. At eight weeks I was in physical therapy as well as going to the gym 3 days a week. I can now play golf, hunt pheasants and deer and help my kids move from house to house without any problems.
