The branch of Soldiers Save Lives that Dr. Silverman has donated to is the cause “In Memory of David Newman.” David Newman was a loving friend, brother, boyfriend and son who lost his life as a result of the Hamas terrorist attack. He was at a social gathering with his girlfriend when when Hamas terrorists, dressed in Israeli uniforms, began opening fire at citizens. David helped many of those around him seek shelter during the attack, and he ended up hiding with his girlfriend and 12 others in a large dumpster during the attack. His group was ultimately discovered by a terrorist, who opened fire on the group. David was killed along with nine others who were hiding with him. His girlfriend was shot but survived the attack.
