As we mentioned in a previous post, we’re excited to partner up with other local clinics to take part in the event Eat, Play, Love: Obesity is a Family Matter.
Eat, Play, Love is a wonderful event that focuses on educating people about how they can implement healthy choices into their everyday life. Topics like meal planning, understanding food labels, exercise and childhood obesity will be discussed, and attendants will have the opportunity to pose questions to some of the most knowledgeable medical professionals in the healthcare industry.
Although I’ve already discussed the event in detail, I wanted to take a moment to clarify when some of the events will take place. The event runs from 1-4pm on Sunday, June 29, but you are more than welcome to come and go as you please.
Dr. Robert Lustig, the keynote speaker and author of Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity and Disease, will speak from 1-2:30 PM. If you plan on attending, I highly encourage you make it in time for his lecture. I’ve read his book and listened to his Youtube series, and both offer an enthralling perspective on the dangers of sugar and other food ingredients.
After Dr. Lustig is done, there will be a 15-minute break before the small breakout sessions begin. There are nine different breakout sessions to choose from. You can see the full list on the event website.
The event takes place at the Sabes JCC in Minneapolis. For more information about the event, or to register, swing on over to the event website or see our previous post. I hope to see you all there on Sunday!
